
BIOGRAPHY
Sinan Samanli completed his Master’s degree in Composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, where he studied composition with Beat Furrer and Bernhard Lang, computer music with Daniel Mayer and piano with Han-Gyeol Lie. He attended masterclasses with from Brian Ferneyhough, Georg Friedrich Haas, Pierluigi Billone, Chaya Czernowin, among others.
His music has been performed by Schallfeld Ensemble, ICE Ensemble, Ensemble Multilatérale, Cantando Admont, among others, in Austria, Italy, France, Finland, Ukraine, and Turkey.
2025 – Artist in Residence at the Berlin Academy of Arts as part of the Junge Akademie program.
2024 – Berlin Scholarship for composition by the Berlin Academy of Arts.
2023 – Austrian State Scholarship for Composition.
2021 – MA Composition at the Academy of Arts Graz in the class of Beat Furrer and Bernhard Lang.
2020 – Commission from Oper Graz for the project Opera of the Future (The Patron Saint of Liars, a musical satyr play for 6 singers and 12 instrumentalists).
2019 – Commission from the Tonspur Festival at Museums Quartier Vienna (Meydane! for solo oboe and electronics).
2019 – First prize in the chamber music category of the international composition competition Torre della Quadra for the piece Neume for flute and violin.
2017 – Honorary Mention in the 10th pre-art competition for young composers for the piece Sen ki Topraksın for 6 instruments.
2016 – BA Composition at the Mimar Sinan State Conservatory in the class of Ahmet Altınel.
